Billings & Edmonds was established towards the close of the 19th Century with financial backing provided by the Directors of Ayres & Smith, Hatters, of Lexington Street, London W1. The oldest set of financial records in the Company's archives is a Balance Sheet dated 31st January 1899 - so we know we were trading in 1898 and take that as the year we were established.

Early records show B&E trading from Princes Street, off Hanover Square. An address equidistant from Savile Row and Regent Street - the Knightsbridge of its day - to attract gentlemen requiring the services of a high quality bespoke tailor as well as parents purchasing childrens formal wear and school outfits.

By the 1920's catalogues produced by the Company show us offering uniform requirements not just for Eton College and Harrow School but also Stowe, Oundle, Rugby, Lancing and several others.

Mr. Colin Edmonds is still associated with the Company, and is the fourth generation to work for Billings and Edmonds, with over 40 years of experience to call upon.

The firm is now under the ownership of Mr Ranjan Kumar, who has over 15 years experience of successfully operating School Outfitters in London, the South and South West.
